Teaching Point:
Today we will make our first Spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel
Favorite Subject in School
Today we are going to start practicing using Spreadsheets to make a list. In Excel, we are going to make a list of subjects in school. Later we will use this list as a survey - a survey is a set of questions you ask other people about how they feel. We will survey the class to see what everyone's favorite subjects in school are. Then we will enter our data into the spreadsheet. Looking at our data, we will be able to see which subjects in school are most and least popular.
Your survey should follow these instructions:
- To Start a new Spreadsheet, click on Microsoft Excel. When the choices menu shows up, choose Workbook.
- In cell A1 write "What is your favorite subject in school?"
- All of your choices should go in column a and start at cell A3.
- In cell A3 write Math.
- In cell A4 write Reading and Writing.
- In cell A5 write Art.
- In cell A6 write Computers.
- In cell A7 write Music.
- In cell A8 write Gym.
- In cell A9 write Library.
